Back in KL again.
Spent only slightly more than a week back home. Convenient excuses were made up. And i'm back in KL again.
Family did not see anything wrong. Not sure if they really bothered to worry about what i do anymore. 22 years old, and freedom is deserved after all. Maybe that's a good thing.
These days, all the friends seem to be drifting apart. Physically. Emotionally. With things in common shrinking by the day, can't be blamed really. We have all reached the crossroad, and one by one we're turning onto our own path to walk on. Slowly, the only thing we share would be the path we all once walked together. And it's being further and further left behind us.
I wonder how the web of our friendships would be like this time next year.
The thin and fragile strings in the web of friendships.
It's 30th June.
Middle of the year. 2 weeks away from the inevitable flight. I should be looking forward to it. If only i could.
We would have this one week all to ourselves. Just the two of us, in a world of our own. This would be the last week we would spend with each other this year.
Ironically, this would be the happiest week i would have this year.
Plans have been made, and time will be spent. I know a week isn't exactly a long time. Especially when happiness is so addictive.
Best be spent savouring every moment of it. The time. And the happiness.
2 weeks later and i will find myself in Scotland, halfway around the globe. How long i'll be gone, can't say. Might need to work there after i graduate, just to pay off the cost of my education, since the sponsor has been increasingly hesitant with paying for it.
Some wonder, out of concern, or curiosity, how we would be with the distance apart for such a long time. I personally have seen more than a fair share of long-distance-relationships breaking apart. What would we have, against the doubts of the future? Would we have end up like the rest of them anyway?
Que sera sera. The future's not ours to see.
Of course i trust in us, believe in us. Having rode through rougher storms together that not many others would even have survived, i know there is more to us. But i won't let the uncertainties of the future taint the dreams we have now. I do not wish to see into the future, for it is not for us to know earlier than we would.
What may be, may be.
Time, would be our next storm to brave through. Whether we would make it to the other side, it's not for us to say. If anyone asked, we would just have to prove it to him.
Still, a week is a week.
And i still wish for more sand in my hourglass.
